Project Participate trains educators, families and other professionals across
North America to recognize the value of active participation as well as the
applications of technology in the classroom.
On-Site Consultation
School teams throughout the state of Colorado can receive intensive on-site
consultation and technical assistance from Project Participate. In the natural
context of the classroom, we guide teams to overcome barriers to student
involvement, write pertinent functional goals, work collaboratively and
integrate technology into curricula. On-site efforts focus on establishing
school wide systems that support students with diverse needs.
Professional Development
Project Participate offers customized teacher in-services to individual schools
and districts. Topics include strategies to increase participation, maximizing
the use of paraeducators, designing meaningful learning activities, fostering
teamwork, using technology effectively in the classroom, planning for diverse
learners, documenting daily participation and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Workshops
Project Participate frequently offers full and half day workshops at
national and state conventions including the Closing the Gap, American
Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), Utah Augmentative Alternative Assistive
Communication and Technology, Partnerships for Assistive Technology with Indiana
Public Schools and the Colorado Inclusion conferences.
Family Education
Project Participate collaborates with the PEAK Parent Center and Colorado
Department of Education to offer families free workshops.
